From August 6th to August 7th, 2020, Professor Wang Xin from the School of Mechanical Engineering led a team to Jinan City, Shandong Province to communicate with the team of Professor Wang Guangchun from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Shandong University on subject construction and graduate education.
The School of Materials Science and Engineering of Shandong University ranked in the top 1‰ of the world in the data released by the ESI (Essential Science Indicators) basic scientific indicator database in 2018. The college has more than ten teaching and research units including the Institute of Plastic Forming and Die Technology, and the Institute of Liquid Metal and Casting Technology. The college has an advanced material testing and manufacturing platform, with field emission electron probes, field emission scanning electron microscopes, infrared excitation atomic force microscopes, tungsten filament scanning electron microscopes and other high-precision material topography characteristics research equipment. Gleeble 3500C thermal simulation testing machine is used for the experimental research of various physical and technological characteristics of metal materials such as steel, aluminum alloy, and titanium alloy at high temperature. The test results can provide reference technical data for the research and development of new materials and new processes. In recent years, it has provided solid hardware and software support for the writing of high-level articles.
The main research directions of Professor Wang Guangchun's team include precision forging technology, coordinated control of forging process shape, numerical simulation and optimization of metal plastic forming, etc., and published more than 200 related papers, of which more than 50 are included in SCI and EI. Has rich experience in scientific research and postgraduate training. In 2019, the team project "Research on Multi-directional Die Forging Forming Method of Hollow Inner Wall Concave and Convex Shape Parts" participated in the open project of School of Mechanical Engineering of Shanghai Dianji University. In July 2020, the project successfully completed the mid-term review.
At present, Professor Wang Xin and Professor Wang Guangchun of our school have jointly trained 1 doctoral student of Shandong University, and jointly carried out research on the microstructure changes and performance of the new refractory yttrium neodymium magnesium alloy material under multi-directional die forging conditions, and studied the material's application in biomedical artificial joints. , Application in aerospace core components, and multi-directional die forging of related components.
Through this exchange, the team of our institute inspected the progress of the open subject "Research on Multi-directional Die Forging Forming Methods of Hollow Inner Wall Concave and Convex Shape Parts", and shared the research experience with the team of Professor Wang Guangchun; relying on the construction of the plateau discipline platform of our institute, Wang Professor Xin’s team will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Shandong University and other domestic first-class universities, strive to introduce high-end talents in the field, and enhance the visibility and influence of our college’s multi-directional die forging direction in the domestic forging field; through joint training of doctors, Postgraduates with a master's degree absorb valuable experience in postgraduate training from first-class universities and contribute to the construction of the mechanical engineering discipline and postgraduate training of our college.
